ABOUT DOGS OF THE ROUND TABLE

Welcome to Dogs of the Round Table, where we believe in nurturing a deeper bond between dogs and their owners through positive, inclusive, and accessible training. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful belief: every dog and owner deserves a relationship built on trust, understanding, and mutual respect.

Transforming Bonds, Training Dogs

  • Jamie Sheehan is a seasoned dog trainer and an expert in behavior modification, founded Dogs of the Round Table with a vision to make dog training more empathetic and effective. Jamie’s unique approach encompasses not just behavior modification but also focuses on canine fitness, ensuring a well-rounded development for every dog. With a background in special education, Jamie's approach goes beyond simple obedience, focusing on understanding each dog's unique needs and personality.

  • Our training philosophy is grounded in positive reinforcement, promoting a learning environment where dogs feel secure and motivated. We specialize in addressing challenges such as pulling on walks, fearfulness, reactivity in public, over-arousal, and foundational training for puppies. Whether your goal is to enjoy peaceful walks, participate in dog sports, or simply have a well-behaved companion at home, our individualized training plans are designed to meet these needs.

  • At Dogs of the Round Table, we are more than just dog trainers. We are advocates for misunderstood dogs, champions for inclusive training, and believers in the power of positive experiences. We welcome dogs and owners from all walks of life, recognizing the uniqueness of each bond and the journey it entails.

Client Success Stories

Wedge and I have been working on learning more about canine fitness so that he can have a long, successful sports career. We’ve taken some classes and seminars with Jamie and have learned SO MUCH together, and we’ve had fun doing it! I am always so surprised at how quickly he’s picked up new exercises and I’ve seen a difference in his body awareness already. He is more thoughtful with using his back end for his box turn (rather than skiing down after jump 4), and I hope we can continue with that trend as we dive deeper into fitness for the long term. We can’t wait to take another rear foot awareness and targeting class with Jamie to gain even more experience with someone who understands not just dogs, but people too.

I can’t recommend Jamie enough. We just picked Creed up from 3 weeks of fitness camp at Dogs of the Round Table and the results are impressive. He’s been having trouble with his box turn in flyball and was not decelerating or collecting. He has a very steep croup and low tail set and was found to be very tight in his hind end and sacrum. After 3 weeks of fitness with Jamie he’s able to flatten his back and exist in a neutral position. He’s learning to use his core more to decelerate and his rear legs more to power off. Jamie gave me a home exercise program that I’m confident we can keep up with to keep him flexible, strengthen his core and hopefully, avoid injury. 10/10 would highly recommend!

I’ve had fitness and flyball lessons with Jamie. She is phenomenal. My normally skittish dog loved her, and she helped me understand how to better care for my dog’s fitness, especially given that Lucy has luxating patellas and is a carrier of degenerative myelopathy. Lucy and I work on her hind end a toonnn. Thanks Jamie /
